Cardi met fellow rapper, Offset, in 2017 when, after seeing her rise as an artist, he got a publicist to set up a dinner with a group of women in New York that included Cardi. The pair were seen together in February at the Super Bowl holding hands and on Valentine’s Day Cardi posted a video of them both at the event on Instagram.
The pair either denied or stayed quiet when asked about their relationship despite being seen together at the 2017 Met Gala after party and at a Meek Mill concert where Cardi was wearing a personalised chain Offset gifted to her. Offset wished her a happy birthday on an Instagram post that October but Cardi sparked rumours they were off when posting a since deleted Instagram selfie with the text “single”. Cardi quickly reacted to the break up rumours in a string of tweets seemingly confirming they were together.
On October 29th 2017, a sold-out crowd watched as Offset proposed to Cardi during a performance for Power 99’s Powerhouse in Philadelphia and she accepted. That December however, Offset was accused of cheating on Cardi and, though they both denied it, she was seen without her ring at a New Years Eve appearance. In early 2018 Offset got a tattoo on his neck saying “Cardi B” and in April Cardi announced she was pregnant with Offset’s baby.
The pair attended the met gala separately but were together at the afterparty in May. In June they appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine together and Cardi explained on Twitter that she and Offset had actually already got married in September 2017.
They welcomed their daughter in July. In December Cardi confirmed the two had split on Instagram but later reconciled and walked the Grammys red carpet in February 2019 where Cardi became he first female singer to win best rap album. Cardi filed for divorce in 2020 but they were quickly reunited and then expecting a son who arrived September 2021. In December 2023 Cardi confirmed she was single again and by July 2024 had filed for divorce again. However, the day after filing, she announced she was expecting her third baby, a daughter, who arrived that September.
The Ring Details:
